Do you have 1-5 years' experience with EU proposal writing support for Horizon Europe and want to actively contribute to the green transition? If so, we offer an exciting position at DTU Wind and Energy Systems (WIND) as an EU proposal writer helping our scientific staff to develop projects ranging from digital technologies, wind turbine design, wind resource assessment, energy system optimization, floating offshore wind, energy storage, Power-to-X, and wind energy systems materials research.

As an EU proposal writer, together with the department's two more experienced proposal support staff, you will be responsible for assisting the department's researchers in their work with the development of research applications for primarily European funding instruments such as Horizon Europe, the Digital Europe Programme, and the European Defense Fund. The department's proposal pipeline has doubled in the past two years, and we need extra capacity to continue to provide support of the highest quality.

What we expect from you
We are looking for someone who has a few years' experience with European funding instruments, who is proactive and can work independently, but who is also a good colleague in a team consisting of employees with strong expertise in both pre- and post-award phases of research grant management. You will have a broad service portfolio, both internally and externally, and we expect you to be service-minded and an excellent collaborator. As we have an informal working atmosphere, you like to be outgoing and have a good sense of humor.

In addition, you are:

  • Knowledgeable of national, European, and international research and energy policy and the competitive soft funding landscape, preferably from a research-financing authority/foundation, industry, or from a university;
  • A fast learner with sharp analytic skills, and an ability to process large volumes of both scientific and non-scientific data under critical time pressure;
  • A strong networker, outgoing, opportunistic, collaborative, self-driven, and exceptionally well-organized;
  • Used to handling and prioritizing many different tasks simultaneously, with a large operational capacity and an ability to maintain your proposal portfolio during periods of peak workloads;
  • Excellent English reading, writing, and speaking skills (Danish or another Scandinavian language is a bonus).

What you can expect from us
A challenging and exciting job in an internationally leading university environment and broad exposure to industry, research, and other public organisations. You will be able to push yourself intellectually and professionally as hard and as far as you like. Moreover, you will have a chance to learn from some of the best project developers, skilled researchers, and engineers in Europe (if not the world). Your work is very independent with a high degree of self-determination. In addition, you get skilled professional and personal development opportunities. You will be part of a workplace with committed colleagues who emphasize high quality and professionalism, but where there is also an informal and open tone and an ambition that going to work every day should be fun and engaging.

At DTU Wind and Energy Systems, you will become part of a unique research environment that, over the past 40 years, has become a global front-runner in wind energy research and innovation. With more than 275 ongoing projects, we work closely with leading research institutions, companies worldwide, public authorities and ministries, trade associations and international organizations such as the World Bank and the IEA (International Energy Agency). The department participates in many larger projects as partner and coordinator, and we have a clear objective to increase the take-up of research funds in the coming years. Here, it is important for DTU Wind and Energy Systems that our scientific staff can focus on their research tasks. To ensure this, it is crucial that they receive qualified support for project management.
