We are seeking a new team member to join the Research Portal Denmark team. We are the developers of a national infrastructure that hosts an expanding array of databases, enabling open and robust overviews, insights, and analyses of Danish research.

Research Portal Denmark (https://forskningsportal.dk ) is already available as a partial prototype, and will undergo significant expansion and development in the coming years:
- Our databases will expand to cover not only publications but also funders and grants, patents, research datasets, clinical trials, policy papers, and the connections between these entities.
- We will further develop our retrieval systems and analytical tools in terms of capacity and usability.
- Our server and security infrastructures will grow to meet increasing demands.
Qualifications:
- A relevant IT education and substantial experience in related roles.
- Expertise in data engineering, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
- Strong experience with databases like MongoDB, Neo4J, and SQLite.
- Experience in indexing using Apache Solr or Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, and VOSViewer.
- Outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for data and a commitment to maintaining data quality.
We do not expect you to know everything when you start, but that you are a quick learner, committed and not least have the desire to familiarize yourself with new areas. Of course, we make sure that you get a good start in the team's tasks.
We are NORA, the National Open Research Analytics , a unit within DTU IT-Service dedicated to the Research Portal Denmark. We are a small and dedicated team consisting of 5 information specialists/data analysts and 5 software developers, including you. We are enthusiastic, hardworking, and enjoy what we do. We are always eager to learn and do more.
Our location is at Risø, in close proximity to DTU Research-IT and several of the nation's prominent data and supercomputing infrastructures. Normally, we work on-site at Risø three days a week and remotely for two days. You will collaborate with a multinational team and work with international partners, where English is the primary language of communication.
Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or in accordance with the OAO-S Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for IT employees (Prosa) in the service of the state.
The position is a full-time position. Starting date is 1 March 2024 (or according to mutual agreement).
The workplace is DTU Risø, Roskilde Campus.
