Department of Science and Environment, Roskilde University, invites applications for 1-2 positions as associate professor or tenure-track assistant professor in applied mathematics from 1 December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Department of Science and Environment is one of four departments at Roskilde University. The department conducts basic and applied research within mathematics, medical biology, molecular biology, environmental sciences, chemistry, and physics. Bachelor and interdisciplinary Master programs are offered within these areas.
The department is organized into four sections: Mathematics & Physics, Environmental Dynamics, Molecular & Medical Biology and Chemistry. We work interdisciplinarily across sections and departments, often in collaboration with private companies, public institutions, other universities and NGO’s. Read more about the department at https://ruc.dk/en/department-science-and-environment.
The position is anchored in the Section for Mathematics & Physics (IMFUFA) currently consisting of 17 professors/associate professors/assistant professors, as well as a varying number of PhD-students, postdocs, technical staff, etc. The research focus within the mathematics part of the section is mainly on mathematical modeling of biological and physical systems with an emphasis on applying and developing dynamical system theory.
The section is characterized by an informal and close collegial environment, including both staff and students and with many research and social activities to strengthen the work environment. Read more about the section at https://ruc.dk/en/forskningsgruppe/mathematics-and-physics-imfufa
